Motorists in British Columbia can purchase special BC Parks licence plate designs. When you buy a BC Parks licence plate, it helps preserve B.C.’s outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.
The BC Parks Licence Plate Program makes a significant contribution to many important programs. In 2024, we reached a milestone with the sale of 500,000 BC Parks licence plates. Look below for information on:

Buying a licence plate
In partnership with ICBC, we offer the choice of three specialty licence plate designs. These depict B.C.’s spectacular parks and protected areas. Choose from an elusive white Kermode bear, the snow-capped Purcell Mountains, or beautiful Porteau Cove overlooking Howe Sound.
A BC Parks licence plate costs $50 to purchase, and $40 to renew each year. 30% of each new plate sale and 100% of every renewal is used to fund projects in parks and protected areas across the province.
BC Parks licence plates can be purchased at Autoplan brokers across the province. Ready to buy a licence plate? Click the button below to visit the ICBC website and find a broker near you.

Annual report
Net proceeds from sales, and all proceeds from renewals, are invested into BC Parks through the Park Enhancement Fund. This special account is separate from the BC Government's annual budget for BC Parks. It was created in 2008 and is governed by the Special Accounts Appropriation and Control Act.
